( @ 7:52 AM )

Hey peeps! So, Lukas is back from the USA! And he has come back with a new nickname... PoBe! Which also stands for Polar Bear (cos apparently i like snow and i like to eat and its kinda like a polar bear so yeah), you have to say it out in order to like, get hooked onto saying out, and my sister says it in a like, cutesy kinda voice. It's pronounced Po(as in the teletubbies Po) and Be, as in, "be yourself" that be. PoBe!

Okay so, i'll begin this post by blogging about the trip followed by food! And so if you just don't give-a-shit about my trip and only care about food, you can skip the whole major chunk coming up and just jump to the food section. I shall conveniently put headers on the "trip" section and "food" section just for your convenience!

TRIP (forgive me i forgot how to change font size or underline the word lol)

Day 1:
Okay, so it all started at erm, 3am? Yeah, the blooming flight was at 720am i believe, so... airport requires passangers to check-in 3 hours before, so me, my mum and chloe took a ride from jon(her boyfriend) to the airport. And so, we said our goodbyes (although it was just mainly chloe who said the goodbyes) and we left Singapore for Narita International Airport, for those who don't know, it's in Japan.
And although i would've like to spend 1 or 2 days in Japan, we had 1 hour to get to our connecting flight, and so instead of having a nice time there, we just rushed from one gate to another. That aside, we caught our flight, a really long flight to Los Angeles...

Day 2:
So the day went on in the plane, but due to time difference we were shifted 1 day back, meaning that when we left it was the 11th december (singapore), and when we landed it was 12th dec (singapore) but 11th dec in the USA. Okay confusing but nvm.
And so from there we took a train all the way from LA, to San Diego! The ride was somewhat nice and i just slept throughout the train ride. Anyway, at San Diego we were kinda hungry and we decided to go around looking for food, but instead we just took the free shuttle to our Motel and just hit the sack, well, or so did my sister anyways. Mum and I went out and looked for a Golden Arches, but it was so blooming far from the motel and with no car its kinda tiring, so we headed into a nearer fast food outlet, the Jack in the Box. Which was only 1 block away from Macs, but heck. So anyway, ordered a Bacon Ultimate cheeseburger, which is, erm... Talk about it in the food section... Then we headed back in the cold and slept till about 10pm till Dad came along from Tampa and woke us all up and took me out for pizza! Cos i had a burger at 5pm which isn't really dinner, and dad says even though we don't feel like eating dinner we should cos erm, to get us used to the diet in US, good excuse to eat!

Day 3:
Headed down to Point Lowa! Or was it Iowa, hmm, can't remember, anyway, the view is fantastic! And i can't find any of the photos i took. Shit. Anyway, i will post it when i can, the only photos i have are those of the burgers i ate :) After point Lowa i think we headed down to this place called Old Town, which is really an Old Town, as in the architecture and the feel was very rustic also. Anyway, stumbled upon this shop which sold chili at varying heat levels, and the way they differentiate it is hilarious...

In increasing order... "AH!".. "AHHHH!".... "HOLY ZOMG WTS!!!!!!!!!" I bet that'd be what they would be saying...

Degrees of PAIN!

Colon cleaner? ASS CLEANER?

Chili from HELL!!!

Haha, funny chili... Okay, so after Old Town we went to Balboa park! Which is erm, not really that much of a park, i don't really know how to put it, its kinda like, a casa? Not really park cos it has alot of buildings, but they were very nice buildings! And i can't find any photos of this place yet so hold on... Went to little italy afterwards for dinner!

Little italy San Diego!

Day 4:
Went to Mexico today! Mexico was kinda dodgy, and this was near the border somemore okay, we didn't really go that far in cos i Mexico to Americans is apparently JB to Singaporeans, so its like, you see one you've seen it all kinda thing. And in Mexico, the drug stores actually sell drugs! Like Prozac, E, Steroids and all that, and you don't need a doctor's prescription! And best of all.. you get discount! Haha, oh, and on the way back to US, i had the opportunity to take part in what is known as.. The Line... So, The Line is this mothurrr long-ass queue, its like, the longest queue in the world la, it makes the hello kitty fad seem tame. Getting into US is more popular than free starbucks, hello kitty, new year party, linkin park concert all put together! The queue was really THAT loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong!
Anyway, it didn't really take long to get through the queue. After that went to shop for spices, and went to this mexican restaurant called El Indio! I realise i don't really like mexican food btw, its like, random kinda thing. Had domino's for dinner!

Day 5:
Got the car today, it was a toyota prius! Very high tech btw, abit too high tech, took me and dad quite awhile to figure out the car, but i unlocked more secrets than he did, haha. Took a short drice to San Juan Capistrano! Where we were supposed to go visit the mission but it was too expensive so we decided to skip it and just look around the town, the town was very much like Old Town, quaint and rustic, very nice. Very peaceful also! I think i took photos but as usual, it's in the other memory card. After San Juan Capistrano headed down to Santa Barbara, which is another nice town! Looked very touristy though, but it was still quite nice. Had some really posh seafood for dinner, but the portions were very small, pictures will be at the food section later.

Anyway, i shall stop her for the trip segment as i'm getting kinda tired, anyway, time to blog about food!

!!!FOOD!!!

Okay, i will do 2 segments here, first will be Burgers, second will be Others. Perfectly simple!

Ok so, BURGERS! This part is dedicated to my ballsy burgerama friends!

Here's the first burger i ate, this was at Jack in the Box San Diego downtown, Jack in the Box is apparently the Burger King equivalent in America, so i was kinda hoping to find something like the ballsy, but there wasn't... The biggest thing i could find though, was this!

The ultimate bacon cheeseburger! Or so it was called, but i didn't really find anything "ultimate" about it though, but still it was quite nice, good for small eats i guess.

Here is the second burger i ate, this one was eaten at Old Town, this burger is so far the biggest i've had on this trip, the equivalent in Singapore is the Bacon Western burger at Carl's Junior, the single one ar, not the double... Presenting...

The Old Western Burger! This burger has i think 1/2 a pound of beef, 2 huge ass onion rings and barbecue sauce as well as cheese of course, but if i were to choose, i'd prefer the carl's junior double bacon western.

Speaking of onion rings, sorry to interrupt but i have to say something about onion rings in America first. Onion rings in America are REAL onion rings! As in, they are really like, the rings of an onion, for those of you who have cut up onions before you'd know what i'm talking about, REAL onion rings okay, not those diced and chopped up then mixed with batter, these onion rings are the whole thing and deep fried, fantastic!

Okay, on to the next burger...
This is the Burger I ate at the airport when i was about to leave for home, this is just another one of those bacon cheeseburgers, but the only thing i liked about this was the fries, really crispy on the outside and soft on the outside, but this burger did not disappoint la, it was still okay, better than the Ultimate bacon cheese burger. Here is.. the Bacon cheeseburger! Airport style...

The airport bacon cheese burger.

Next: I've heard alot about this burger before i left, it was in Singapore for a short amount of time but soon after it disappeared, this is... the Quarter pounder. And in America, there is the Double Quarter pounder! And that is exactly what i took, but no upsize though, forgot to ask, and they don't have supersize anymore so yeah. Anyway, the Double Quarter Pounder!

Okay, this is the box, just look at it! Its fantastic! It's like a huge whoopass burger that is so MIGHTY like, TWICE as MIGHTY as the quarter pounder.
But alas, all this is on the box only... in the box lies...

The Double Quarter Pounder... I think its smaller than the Big Mac, quite disappointing actually, its like a double cheeseburger. I definitely expected more from this, the only thing nice was the taste of the meat, that's about it...
Overall, this was below expectations...

Okay, as some of you may know me, i always save the best for last. THIS IS, THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EATEN! not only in America, but in my entire life! This means it surpasses the Ballsy! The coming burger, is the only meal i had which is equivalent to the burger king ballsy meal. This burger, has 2 patties, 1 patty weighs a whopping 1 pound i think, and the meal came with a frikking huge french roll, whoopass mushrooms and a whole lota CHEESE! and red onions! And a really really really excellent potato salad! And the title really fits the burger... PROUDLY PRESENTING...
*drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll**drum roll*

THE ULTIMATE BURGER! this humongous burger can be found at Rosine's! EXCELLENT!
And when i said that this meal is equivalent to the burger king meals i've had, means that there's DESSERT AS WELL! You know BK's Hershey's sundae pie? Well, this dessert makes it look tame... this is...

THE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CAKE! I bet its supposed to be like, double chocolate cake but they named it chocolate chocolate cake instead. OKAY, so this cake totally owns hershey's sundae pie, it's probably 3 times taller than it. Also, this cake has 6 layers of chocolate cake, and between each layer is a a layer of chocolate fudge cream, and around the cake there's a coat of chocolate fudge cream again. Once again i shall say, this cake has 6 layers, SIX LAYERS of chocolate cake... Ultimate meal with the ultimate burger.

And so, this concludes my burger journey in America, overall i'm quite pleased! Damn good burgers!

Blog more next time!
