HAHA!

Went to Mrs Sohs' today, intended to surprise her, but lo and behold, she wasnt in! but the maid was very nice, she still rmbs me, she let us in, then me and J had this idea to leave our "mark" there, so we pasted our names in post-it form on Mrs Soh's table, wrote a few notes and a big Happy birthday! haha, hope she appreciates it and wont kill her maid or anything...

PROVERBS 19:17
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward him for what he has done.

Today's sermon was about the poor and the righteous man giving to the poor. I felt so at peace in the sanctuary, i think i might stop going to YM and learn more at the other side.

Matthew 24

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times

1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9 "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but whoever stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15 "So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' [
a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
22 "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the wilderness,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29 "Immediately after the distress of those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.' [
b]
30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the peoples of the earth [
c] will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it [
d] is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, [
e] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,' 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Haha, ello folks! for the sake of my friend, i have posted this chapter up here hoping that she will read it!!!

This chapter particularly reached out to me, i think it is quite scary and at the same time comforting, and i was listening to the sermon too! Today's sermon was quite funny, it was Rev Daniel, i think he tries to much to be someone.. haha...READ IT

i just realised 2 days is not enough to study chem, but i will intensify my studying regime.
i think i'll flunk only maths for terms, but i'll try my best still.
hopefully i pass everything else.
I love to ruan, really, recently after the Beijing trip... yeah, dunno what happened.

I shall have phrase/proverb/verse for the month from now on.

For the rest of this month, the verse is

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. -John 12:46

HAD CIP TODAY...

Haha, it was quite fun lar, but could've been more fun. Anyway, in the morning had ice breakers, some board game, then lunch, then bused to East Coast park for beach cleaning.

Here's the interesting part, we sorta went off as a class (everyone else did the sane) to pick up trash, as we were picking picking, we spotted a sort of bag, at least we THOUGHT it was bag, but it turned out to be some sort carpeting, the type you see at brco. Anyways, it was HUGE, like a really big big big piece of carpeting, enough to cover half of my sister's bedroom, and worse thing was, there was like, a TONNE of sand on it, it was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally heavy, we almost DIED trying to get it out of the sand, we were so enthu about it cos the instructions given was that if it is man-made, it shouldn't be there, sooooo, like the environmental boys we were, we heaved the whole blooming thing out, took us about an hour plus, but it was a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally great accomplishment, we really worked our ass off to get it out, just think of the environmental damage it could've caused. Anyway, after that we ate at Carl's Junior, their chilli cheese fries is nice! Walked all over the place complaining cos we couldn't find a bus stop with the proper bus. Haha, beach cleaning was the BEST.

the trust we have, its not the kind of trust that most people with each other, its not the "i trust you didn't lie to me, i trust you didn't steal from me" not that kind of trust.
the trust we have, is the kind like "i know i can trust you to help me in times of need, i know i can trust you not to leave me alone, i know i can trust you." how about you?

hellos...
okay, went to acjc to study this morning with irvin jl and mike... it was so-so... After that went to lunch at dover market.
Went to brco!!! okay, it really sucks now, like from gold standard to bronze or even COP... work has to be done there... met my juniors and realised how crap they are, they've got alot to work on... As a senior and ex-vicechairman, i feel the it is my obligation to go help them, but i dont know when i can... so yeah... Go barker guys, dont let your seniors down for what we've built for you...
Went to play ball with ianyang, irvin and mike, it was damn funny, we split up, me and irvin vs ianyang and mike, and the rules were pretty much the same, except for one, for every one point scored, the opposing team must do 5 push-ups, in the end ianyang's team lost and they had to do 20. Next round, ianyang wanted a change, so we switched partners, so now its ianyang irvin and me mike, and ianyang's team lost again, so another 20 for them.. nice one la, ianyang's team didnt even score one point! but nvm.. work hard at it! haha, fun fun...

( @ 3:09 PM )

OKAY, i'm officially BACK! Though yesterday's flight was delayed like hell and i only reached singapore at 6pm, by that time i had to rush down for syco concert.. Okay, so China.. here's the breakdown!

Day 1- Friday

woke up at 5.15 am in singapore, got ready to leave for the airport. Had prata at T1 for breakfast! And abit of dads porridge haha. Boarded cathay pacific flight somthing something. During the flight i watched Rambo 4 which is btw, stupid. I conclude that Rambo is a series of mindless killing shows. Got off at HKIA for transit and i LURVE the HK people's accent. Current time 12.35 pm, next flight scheduled at 1.35pm, so 1 hour for lunch. Had cheese nachos for lunch cos yeah, there was nothing else to eat or rather, everything was so exorbitantly priced we couldn;t bear to part with the money. anyways, boarded Air China flight something something again, a much smaller plane, 3 by 3 seating. Had some noodle stuffs for "lunch" at 3pm.
Landed at BCIA at around 5.15pm and at T3. Haha, the place was spanking new larhs, first thing that caught my was this sign that said "immigration checkpoint 10 minutes away" WTPONG, 10 minutes??? Do they intend to kill off their opponents even before they reach the olympic stadium? Anyway, so we made our long looooooooong trip to the checkpoint, got stamped and went to baggage claim, which was i think at T3-C, so yeah, this T3 is sooooooooooo darn big that there's also T3-A,B,C,D,E! Pwns sg man. Met up with chloe, checked in at this hotel called qingshansomethingbingguan, which was damn small btw... went to eat korean BBQ for dinner! Mmm... then went to chloes crib and went back and took a 20degree bath... nice one...

Day 2-Saturday

Woke up at around 7? Haha, can't remember. Chloe came over to the hotel and we had breakfast together, which was porridge and cold tofu strips at a porridge shop just next to our hotel. went to summer palace which a HUGOMUNGO park with random buildings littered around, it was very nice, tranquil and quiet, there were musicians around so it added to the atmosphere, very nice place. Bummed around there for abit till about 2? then headed back to xueyuanlu (where we stay) for lunch at a VERY quaint korean/japanese shop. thenw e went back to our hotel and napped till about 6 odd, cabbed to the National Chinese Orchestra! And met the zhingruan maker Zhang Xin Hua shifu! He drives a sexy lexus with GPS. Talked to him a little as he drove us to his "warehouse" (which is actually a apartment), okay his place is AMAZING, nothing bt instruments which he makes himself, I tell you, zhang shifu is an amazing guy, he smoked 2 sticks in that 1 meeting and I also bought some coolio stuffs from him! OHYA, he asked me one question that really had me going, he asked "why do you play music? why did you choose to learn the ruan?" What a question, i think some of us need to ask ourself that, he asked me this cos i was nervous in front of him and i couldnt play anything, but after he asked me this, i thought to myself and a wave of confidence came over me and i played some songs, even though i was nervous i still played, it was a night to remember.. OH and, i met Song Guan Ying shifu as well! Had dinner at bellagio, freak expensive...

Day 3-Sunday

woke up at 5.. AGAIN, it seems i cant help but wake up at that time.. ok, went to zhong guan cun for church, in CHINESE, can you believe it? A sermon in CHINESE? i'm pro ok??? After church went to some coolio beef noodle place called master chef kang beef noodles for brunch, it was reaaaaaaaaaaaally gooooooooooood. If you see an outlet (its a chain) go and try! Okay, while mum and clo went to carrefour me and dad went computer shopping! And we almost got scammed 50 yuan! stupid stall owner claimed that just because there's an apple logo on it its original, yeah right.. in the end we bought 2 ipod cables, 1 micro sd to ms pro duo 2 adapter, 1 4gb micro sd card, 1 2gb micro sd card and to micro sd to SD adapters, ALL cheaper then singapore and REAL surprisingly... After that, when somewhere, then somewhere then to the Beijing Central Conservatory of music!!! but we only went to the book store there, but bought loads of stuff, score, cds, dvds, books, great place... Ate dinner at some chinese place with damn salty food...

Day 4-Monday

Stayed in hotel most of the day, dad sprained his knee while trying to be an olympic athlete while vaulting over a fence... Studied physics GP and chem. then went out for lunch, ate street fare, like fired pastry with beef and spring onions, and this pizza thingy that was LOADED with MSG. Went back, napped, mum and clo went out shopping and ate dinner at another korean BBQ place! to make up for the lousy lunch of course... uneventful day...

Day 5-Tuesday

Went to forbidden city! Ok but at first went to tiananmen square which btw, i feel is a great place for ACJC to hold morning assembly. It was rather chilly that day, with slight rain and winds blowing all over. Had KFC for brunch. OKAY, forbidden city is a huge place! Really huge, and somehow i feel more "into" this than Angkor Wat, maybe because it's chinese? Anyway yeah, i will upload pics about this place. Spent the entire day walking around the forbidden city, until about 4, then we decided to go to this road called xinjiekou, which has boutiques annnnnnd music shops! so we went into a few, but all of them didnt sell what i wanted :(. SO anyway, ate lamb kebabs! Mediterranean style! Mmm. Bussed to wudaokou for dinner at isshin! A very good japanese restaurant i must say, but their location could be better cos it was located at some ulu carpark surrounded by housing estates. The food was excellent! the sushi platter, grilled pike, curry katsu, tempura, grilled chicken and potato salad! All vvvvv nice! Bussed back to our crib and snoozed off...

Day 6-Wednesday

Woke up at 3.15 am due to mums complaining about a mosquito in the room. went back to sleep and woke up at about 7? Met sis at around 8 and made our way to Tianjin, by the time we reached it was already around 2? apparently there was this shop which sold goubuli, which is ultimately a bao... not that good... Tianjin is also known for their architectural designs littered all over the place! French, German, Japanese etc etc. but most of em' were under renovation so we didnt get to see much. Had malan beef noodles for dinner at 645, we rushed the meal so that we could catch the 7pm bus back to Beijing, and the portions were huge i tell you, and good also! and we managed to wallop the whole lot up! haha, amazing... reached beijing at 9+, cabbed back to hotel and slept.

Day 7-Thursday (written on the day itself)

Okay, today is gonna be a great day! I can just feel it! woke up at about 7am or so, prepared to go to badaling, which is where a part of chang cheng(great wall), sorry, a HUGE part at that. anyways, had ianbing for breakfast, which is some chinese version of thosai. anyway it was alot to eat so we ended up throwing some away. bussed to changcheng , at the bus stop however, there were these touters who tried to trick us into getting into their cars to get to changcheng, claiming that by bus its 12 yuan and by express bus its 32yuan, and it takes 3 1/2 hours to get there.. BUT, the fact is, it is 9yuan for bus and 12yuan for express, and it takes 2 hours by bus and 1 hour by express! So if any of you decide to go to visit badaling, do not be fooled. anyways, reached badaling WAH, the wall is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong man, what crazy nutter would have built this??? The wall was definitely great man, it was built on mountainous terrain, there were alot of ups and downs, and very steep slopes that we had to climb, it was super tiring luhh. Overall chang cheng is a must see when visiting beijing, the scenery is fantastic ! the air is fresh and cool, away from all the dust and pollution. Took a sled like thingy down the mountain. Walked to find the bus station, met more touters who claimed that we were going the wrong way, and they were really persistent! Damn annoying.. anyway in the end we did make a right decision! serve you right touters! and somemore the outcome was even better! meaning that we wanted to take the bus, but in the end we had to take the express bus! which is btw, faster, more comfortable and has aircon! The way God works is definitely something else... By the time we got back to beijing it was already 3pm, had arranged a meeting with zhang shifu again at 3! shizzles! so we called him, arranged a meeting at the chinese national orchestra place again and CHIONG-ED there, just me and dad though, mum and sis went shopping at dunno where.. anyway, it was 4pm by the time we met him, got more zr stuff from him, and picked up a thing or two about beijing roadside stalls! Had late lunch at a place he recommended, ate chongyoumian, it was v nice and cheap too! Dad wanted to go tiantan, which is some park highly recommended by LP, at first i didnt want to go, but in the end i'm glad that i went. it really is the best park in beijing! very nice, peaceful, big, tranquil... and to top it of, there were chinese musicians playing around the park as well... soooo ncie, the atmosphere was perfect.... met mums and clo at the korean place we went to at the first night and went back and slept. So sad, its our last night in beijing, and i was just getting used to it too...

Day 8-Friday (written on the day itself)

okays, woke up at 8, went to chaoshifa to grab some breakfast, had niuroubing and jianbing, ohman.. niuroubing!!! its the best fast food ever la! too bad they dont sell in singapore, but for sure when i go back there, i'll eat niuroubing... Mum and clo had a small quarrel this morning over clothes and shopping, though it seems to have cleared up, clo still didnt wanna go to the airport to see us off, but nvm.. Reached the airport at 11 odd, checked in, put my ruan in a special place. ate korean food for lunch. anyway, boarded the plane at 250 and took off at 6...no, it is not a typo.. the blooming flight was delayed for that long, and while the passengers were on the plane somemore. damn inconsiderate these jokers. it was a damn long delay la, over 10 flights were delayed for more than 1 hour, the excuse was bad weather, but we think its something to do with the airport control, we think they screwed up... anyway, uneventful flight had some noodle crap for the meal. Reached hk, missed our transit flight, so we had to stay in hk until further notice... so we complain complain.. fight fight... fight until...

Day 9- Saturday (written on the day itself)

Until today! omg, 12 am still fighting! seow man, and there were other groups of people as well, all the delayed flights, all the people going to auckland and singapore kena to worst, stay till next day... The worst part is, they freaking didnt give us compensation! wtpongzzzz. in the end, slept at the airport, on the seats that were at the transit section, uncomfortable like shit, but i managed to catch some shut eye... Woke up at around 6? walked around, took a dump at the toilet, then went to the departure side, which we could have done 6 hours ago where there were better seats and food!!! had bk for lunch (breakfast was noted in previous post), boarded the plane after a 2 hour delay, and got delayed further on the plane... seresly man... was worried that couldnt make it for sy concert, but eventually did....

Hey guys.. i'm in hk now Zzz. When i post about everything you guys will know why. Anyway yeah, woke up today at 5? my back freaking aches from sleeping in such a awkward position. Had congee and fried noodle for breakfast, the congee was nice, the noodle was..cold and bland. Anyway, hk seems to be a nice place so far, only the airline people are pricks but still... Anyway, hope to be back home by 3pm today! hopefully, but the weather here is shitzzzzz, it keeps raining and lightning here and thunder there, but still planes take off and land, unlike in beijing.. where a few drops of water and grey clouds will scare the airport control people shitless and they'd have to delay like... possibly 20 over flights for more than 1 hour.. crazy... anyway, laptop battery gonna die soon, so i'll blog ALL about my trip when i get back! after syco concert of course...
