Friday, May 29, 2009 ( @ 11:01 PM ) I just went for my uncle Frank's wake, and this was the verse that was shown there. It set me thinking really hard, what does believing in Him mean? Like... Just believing? Or is it leading that christian life? Cos from what i see around me, there are people who believe in God, but don't act in that manner, will they also live eternally? Anyway, i heard my uncle Frank died in the hospital at around 1am or so. I can't imagine that, it's really heartbreaking. He was blind and already reaching the end. You know how like... people can tell when they're going to pass on? Ya, so my uncle Frank was lying in bed, knowing he was going to die, he probably called out for my aunt Ellen (wife) or one of his sons or daughters, but no one was there simply because it was already past 12 midnight, so there he was, a blind man reaching his end, calling out for loved ones that were not there... Then, people always say they see a light or something right? So i imagine even though he was blind physically, he probably saw this light (spiritually) and from this light, came a hand... Jesus's hand... And quoting Revelations 3:20, Jesus would probably say, come and sup with me, next to my Father's throne. And uncle Frank would reach out, and as he rises up to heaven, his clothes and all his worldly possessions all fade away. And as he leaves behind his loved ones, the weight of physical death eating his life away is alleviated and he is born again, to live the eternal life that God has promised to his followers. Uncle Frank was a good man, i still remember the time before he was struck with Parkinsons disease, he was a tall, fit, able-bodied man... I believe he even carried me when i was small. He was a kind man, lived a life for God, and lived very humbly. When parkinsons took over his life, his movements became slower, and his speech impaired, he fell often. He always knew what to say, but never could say it out due to the loss of control over certain nerves. But whatever he intended to say, i believe it will be beneficial to anyone, or something good. Uncle Frank, i will miss you... I'm so sorry i didn't come to see you at the hospital. 0 comments |
